RESIDENTIAL PROJECTS / 11-13 Hartington Place
CLIENT: North Herts Homes
CONSTRUCTION VALUE: £8.5m
Acting as Executive Architect for the Stride Treglown houses, the three bedroom dwellings were constructed using highly sustainable materials and technologies.
Beam and insulated panel floors, timber frame structure, hemcrete walls and a highly insulated timber cassette roof with sedum finish were used to create a bespoke terrace of houses providing high levels of energy efficiency.
Passive design elements including a double height glazed solar space to the south elevation with louvres providing summer shading also contribute towards a comfortable, light and low energy environment.
Renewable energy sources including solar hot water and photovoltaic panels were used to contribute towards the reduced energy demand.
To the rear elevation a glass roof allows daylight through to internal spaces and and the covered external terrace.
